Discover the fundamentals of tracking ships, planes, and other types of vehicles. This session introduces key terminology and the most effective tools and resources for maritime and aviation tracking. Through real-world examples, Karina Shedrofsky demonstrates how researchers have applied these methods in practice, including creative techniques and workarounds when standard tracking tools fall short. The session also touches on what’s possible when investigating other vehicle types, such as cars and motorcycles, where data is more limited. By the end, participants will have a solid foundation to incorporate ship and plane tracking into their own investigations.
